Transport to Pärnu
The easiest way to get to Pärnu is to take an international flight via Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, or Riga, the capital of Latvia. Pärnu is only a few hours’ drive from the airports of both cities, which are connected by the fast Via Baltica (E67) road. Estonia’s largest port is located in Tallinn, ships from Helsinki arrive there almost every hour.
Public transport in Pärnu

The plastic card system applies in Pärnumaa public transport. The same system is used in Tallinn and Tartu, for example. If there is an analog card, it also works in Pärnu. The new plastic card costs €2 and can be purchased at any ticket office. When entering the bus, it is necessary to validate the card.
A one-hour ticket for a city visitor costs €2, a day ticket €5 and a five-day ticket €15. A day ticket becomes valid when the card is validated three times, a 5-day ticket when it is validated 8 times. It doesn’t have to be done all at once. For example, if you drive three times a day and validate your card, it will automatically become a day ticket.
You can buy a one-hour ticket directly from the bus driver. You don’t need a card for that. The price of a paper ticket on city lines is €3 (on rural lines €1) and can be paid in cash.
